Altenew’s 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello my crafting friends,

Today I'm participating Altenew's 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop. If you came from Raquel Bowman 's Blog you are on the right track, if not please start at the Altenew blog.

Congratulations Altenew, it's been a real delight to see Altenew turn such a succesful crafting company. Altenew has such a unique style in its products and I really love to play with them. To celebrate Altenew's success I was inspired by spring (which is finally about to come to the Arctic Circle as well). I used some of the older products and combined them to the newer products. Here we go:

I started with the Garden Treasure stamp set. I used Morning Frost Altenew Crisp ink to stamp the flowers. I love to use this very light, warm gray ink to stamp my images when I do no-line colouring. Instead using my go-to-colouring-method, I used only coloured pencils today. I usually combine them to copics or Altenew Artist Markers but today I wanted to use only my Polychromo pencils. I list the colours below if you are interested in the exact colours I used.

Then I die cut the flowers from Garden Treasure stamp set with co-ordinating dies to create masks for my flowers. Die cut flowers are a bit bigger than actual stamped/coloured but it doesn't matter since you can colour the missing parts when you add details to your branches. I stamped the same branch twice and made it to look like one big branch. I used Limestone Altenew Crisp Ink to stamp the branches from Winter Cardinal stamp set.

Then I stamped with the Limestone ink a butterfly from a older set called Wild Hibiscus and die cut it with co-ordinating die. Here is a close up of the butterfly.

To finish my card I stamp a sentiment from Beautiful Quotes stamp set with Pure Graphite Altenew Crisp Ink (my new favourite sentiment colour by the way). Then I added a string of Real Grey Altenew card stock to the bottom of my card  and added a few sequins to add a little magic. :)

Faber Castell Polychromo pencils used: Ivory (103), Light Flesh (132), Medium Flesh (131), Burnt Ochre (187), Green Gold (268), Dark Sepia (175), Earth Green (172), Earth Green Yellowish (168), Warm Grey III (272), Cold Grey III (252), Cold Grey IV (233) and Cold Grey (234)

Derwent Coloursoft pencils used: White (C720)

Altenew is giving away $50 gift certificates to FIVE lucky winners. There are also 12 awesome companies who are celebrating with us, and they are offering the following prizes:

Altenew March Release Blog Hop II + Giveaway

Today I'm participating Altenew March Release Blog Hop. If you came from Evelyn Yusuf blog, you are on the right track. If not, please start at the beginning of Altenew's blog.

Altenew is releasing a wonderful set of new stamps and dies. I played a little with Garden Treasure stamp and Garden Treasure die set and made this wedding card for my collaque. Firstly, I stamped the flowers with Altenew Blush Crisp Die Ink onto a copic friendly card stock. Then coloured the flowers with copic markers and coloured pencils. I used a square die to die cut the two pieces of card stock that I use to create the background. I used Cherry Wood card stock and the same card stock that I used for my card base. I wanted to have to something light and beautiful on the background as well so I stamped a few leaves from an older stamp set called Precious Moments, I stamped the sentiment from Ori kami set with Altenew Jet Black Crisp die ink.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to THREE lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew blog by Thursday, March 30th at 11:59 pm EST for a chance to win. The winners will be announced on the Altenew blog on Friday, March 31th.

30 Coloring Challenge

It's March already, time flies doesn't it? Have you heard about Kathy's 30 day colouring challenge? I believe this challenge is one of the best ones, it encourages you to color which is so therapeutic, at least for me! If you want to join in the fun, just color something and share it on the social media. Easy and fun! Many companies are also running promotions, if you are interested what Altenew is offering, please, see the end of this blog post. There's a fun blog hop running though the 10th of this month!

I used Altenew stamps for my project. Actually this card was custom made for a girl whose name is Maj. I used Remember This- stamp set. I used Altenew Frosty Pink Ink to stamp my flowers and for the leaves I used Altenew Morning Frost Ink. I coloured the flowers and the leaves first with copic markers and then added details with pencils. I die cut the letters using Bold Alphabet Die set. I cut six times each of the letters, coloured one of the letters to match to my flowers with a copic marker and then glued them together. For my finishing touch I added a piece of Altenew Pale Grey card stock at the bottom of my card and stamped the sentiment under the die-cut letters.

Here's some details and offers what Altenew is promoting at the moment:

1. FREE GIFT with every order from Coloring Challenge Collection (3/2-3/5)
  • Receive a FREE Apple Tree Stamp Set when you order stamps from the Coloring Challenge Collection! No need to add to cart, will automatically ship with orders. Limit one per customer, while supplies last. Not applicable on previous orders. Offer ends on Sunday 3/5, 2017 at 11:59 PM EST.

Altenew January Release Blog Hop II + Giveaway

Hello Friends,

Today I'm participating Altenew January Release Blog Hop. If you came from Nicole Picadura's blog, you are on the right track, if not please start at the beginning of Altenew blog.

I played a little with this beautiful Garden Hydrangea stamp set. This set has one multilayered hydrangea bloom. You may use this set to stamp all four layers on top of each other and you'll get a beautiful image. If you wish to add a bit of your own touch, you may want to use just a few of the images and colour the rest. I used the bottom left image to stamp my flower. I used Zig Watercolour Markers as my ink. Then I took my water brush and blended the ink a bit.

Here's my final project. I kinda like how it turned out. :)

Stamps: Garden Hydrangea and Many thanks by Altenew.
Inks: Altenew Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink.
Paper: Altenew Pale Gray Cardstock, White Vellum and The Langton Rough Grain Torchon Watercolour by Daler & Rowney.
Kuretake Clear Colour Real Brush Markers: Dull Blue (034) and Pale Gray (097).

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to THREE lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew blog by Thursday, February 2nd at 11:59 PM EST for a chance to win. The winners will be announced on the Altenew blog on Saturday, February 4th.

I will also draw one winner who will receive a $30 gift certificate to Altenew online store on the comments left on this blog post. I will announce the winner on my blog soon after the giveaway closes.

Hopefully you have enjoyed the hop this far. Next is amazingly talented and the kindest person in the crafting community Jennifer McGuire. Here's the full list of designers participating on the hop. Have fun!
